Mobile Windshield Service FAQ: Your Questions Answered
The most frequently asked questions about mobile windshield service in Denver cover cost, timing, insurance, parking, weather, and ADAS calibration. Mobile replacement costs the same as shop service, typically 200 to 400 dollars for standard vehicles and 400 to 800 dollars for luxury models, with no mobile surcharge. Active work takes 45 to 90 minutes plus a one-hour cure time. Insurance claims are handled identically to shop claims, and most Colorado policies cover windshield replacement with zero to 100 dollar deductibles. You need a flat parking surface with three feet of clearance on each side. Service runs in most weather conditions except heavy storms or extreme cold below 10 degrees. ADAS calibration is performed on-site when needed, adding 20 to 45 minutes. We serve the entire Denver metro from Castle Rock to Brighton. Same-day appointments are often available, especially for common vehicle models. No, filing a glass claim does not raise your insurance rates in Colorado. Call (720) 918-7465 for answers to any other questions.
Cost and Pricing
How much does mobile windshield replacement cost?
Mobile windshield replacement costs the same as in-shop service. There is no mobile surcharge, trip fee, or convenience premium. Typical pricing ranges from $200 to $400 for standard vehicles (Honda, Toyota, Subaru, Hyundai) and $400 to $800+ for luxury or specialty vehicles (BMW, Mercedes, Tesla). With insurance, most Denver customers pay $0 to $250 out of pocket depending on their deductible. For a full breakdown, see our cost guide.
Does insurance cover mobile windshield replacement?
Yes. Insurance companies do not distinguish between mobile and in-shop service. Windshield replacement is covered under comprehensive auto insurance. Many Colorado policies include zero-deductible glass coverage. We handle the entire insurance claims process for you.
Will filing a windshield claim raise my insurance rates?
No. Comprehensive claims for windshield damage are classified as no-fault and typically do not affect your premium. This is different from a collision claim.
Timing and Scheduling
How long does the replacement take?
Active work takes 45 to 75 minutes for a standard replacement without ADAS calibration. With calibration, add 20 to 45 minutes. After installation, the adhesive needs about one hour to cure before the vehicle is safe to drive. Your personal time commitment is about 10 minutes total (greeting the technician and final walkthrough). See our detailed timeline guide.
Is same-day service available?
Yes, for most common vehicles. We frequently accommodate same-day requests across the Denver metro. Call early in the day for the best chances: (720) 918-7465.
Do I need to be present during the replacement?
You do not need to stand outside and watch. You should be reachable by phone in case the technician has a question. Many customers hand over the keys and go back to work, errands, or household tasks. The technician will contact you when the work is complete.
Location and Parking
Where can mobile service be performed?
Anywhere you can park your vehicle on a reasonably flat, stable surface with about three feet of clearance on each side. The most popular locations are home driveways, office parking lots, and apartment complex parking. We also work at grocery store lots, hotel parking, park-and-rides, and other locations. See our parking requirements guide.
Do you serve my area?
We cover the entire Denver metro area: Denver, Aurora, Lakewood, Arvada, Westminster, Thornton, Centennial, Highlands Ranch, Littleton, Castle Rock, Parker, Golden, Brighton, and all communities in between. See our full service area coverage or our service areas page.
Can you work in my apartment parking garage?
Yes, with some requirements: at least seven feet of ceiling height and room to open the front doors. For ADAS calibration, the vehicle may need to be moved to an open area. See our apartment service guide.
Weather
Do you work in the winter?
Yes. We work through most Denver winter conditions using cold-weather adhesive formulations and heating blankets. We may reschedule during active blizzards or when temperatures drop below 10 degrees Fahrenheit. Read our complete winter service guide.
What happens if it rains?
Light rain does not stop service -- the technician uses portable covers during the critical phases. Heavy sustained rain or thunderstorms trigger a reschedule. Denver's afternoon thunderstorms are usually brief, so morning appointments are a good strategy in summer. Full details in our weather policy.
Quality and Safety
Is mobile replacement as safe as shop work?
Yes. Mobile technicians follow the same Auto Glass Safety Council (AGSC) standards as shop installers. The same glass, adhesives, primers, and procedures are used. The workmanship warranty is the same. See our safety standards article.
What kind of glass do you use?
We use OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and OEE (Original Equipment Equivalent) windshields. All glass meets DOT and FMVSS standards. We do not use substandard aftermarket glass.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes. Every installation comes with a lifetime workmanship warranty covering leaks, wind noise, and installation-related issues. The glass itself carries a manufacturer warranty against defects.
ADAS and Technology
Can ADAS calibration be done on-site?
Yes. Static ADAS calibration, which covers the majority of vehicles, is performed on-site as part of the mobile appointment. Some vehicles requiring dynamic calibration need a brief drive after installation. See our full ADAS calibration guide and our ADAS calibration page.
How do I know if my vehicle needs ADAS calibration?
If your vehicle has features like lane-departure warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, or a forward-facing camera mounted to the windshield, it likely needs calibration. Most vehicles from 2018 onward have these features. We check your vehicle's requirements when you book and include calibration in the service plan if needed.
After the Replacement
How long before I can drive?
The standard safe drive-away time is one hour after the windshield is set. This allows the urethane adhesive to cure enough to safely retain the windshield. Full cure takes 24 to 48 hours.
Are there any aftercare instructions?
Yes. For the first 24 to 48 hours after replacement:
- Leave one window cracked slightly to equalize cabin pressure
- Do not remove the retention tape along the windshield edges
- Avoid car washes for at least 48 hours
- Do not slam doors with all windows closed
- Drive gently over speed bumps and rough roads
What if I notice a problem after the replacement?
Contact us immediately. Any leaks, wind noise, or installation-related issues are covered under our lifetime workmanship warranty. We will send a technician to inspect and fix the issue at no charge.
Business and Fleet
Do you offer fleet service?
Yes. We provide mobile fleet service with dedicated accounts, volume pricing, priority scheduling, and centralized billing. Visit our fleet service page or call to set up an account.
Can you service my entire team's vehicles at our office?
Yes. We can schedule a multi-vehicle service day at your office location. The technician rotates through vehicles throughout the day, maximizing efficiency and minimizing disruption to your team.
